Farm Packs

The farm packs listed below were created in partnership with the manufacturer to ensure they contain optimal levels of Phileo products like Actisaf® and Safmannan®.

Rumen Efficiency and Immunity Packs

The Rumen Efficiency Pack and Immunity Pack are farm packs that contain highly concentrated and specifically selected yeast-based ingredients at superior dose rates and are specially formulated to improve digestive function and efficiency in ruminants.

Both packs contain the probiotic Actisaf® Sc 47 to support the rumen microbiome, with a unique protective layer to ensure the live yeast inside each prill reaches the rumen intact. The Immunity Pack also contains Safmannan®, a unique premium yeast fraction rich in mannans and beta-glucans, which helps support immune status, bind gut pathogens and support gut integrity. Actisaf® has been proven to:

  1. Support the growth of the same microbial species found in the most feed-efficient animals.
  2. Have a superior, biological buffering effect and contribute to increased levels of propionate (VFA) compared to sodium bicarbonate.

In addition, trial work conducted at the University of Nottingham’s Centre for Dairy Science and Innovation (CDSI) showed that the feed efficiency of early lactation cows improved by 5.5% when supplemented with Actisaf® live yeast.

The Calf Bucket

The period from birth to weaning is arguably the most critical phase in a calf’s development and can dictate future growth and lactation performance. The Calf Bucket is specifically formulated to support gut health and immunity in young calves, giving them the start they need to grow and develop into productive and profitable members of your dairy herd or beef enterprise.

The Calf Bucket is a concentrated formulation of Actisaf® Sc 47 live yeast probiotic and postbiotic Safmannan® premium yeast fraction. This combination of ingredients supports microbiome development and immune function, while also binding to pathogens and supporting the function of the villi and epithelial cells in the gut.

It also creates the ideal environment for the digestive microbiome to establish, a key factor in determining a calf’s ability to fend off disease like bacterial scours and respiratory challenges, as well as wean effectively onto solid feed.

The Calf Bucket also contains prebiotics:

  • Prosaf® - a rich source of yeast nucleotides and amino acids, which aid villi development and repair in the small intestine.
  • Nutrisaf® - an autolysed yeast rich in highly digestible amino acids.

ZeroZinc Farm Pack

Designed specifically to support the gut health of weaned piglets...

The ZeroZinc Farm Pack contains a blend of natural high-quality ingredients, including probiotic live yeast Actisaf®, postbiotic Safmannan® and Nutrisaf®, a carefully selected prebiotic.

By modifying the gut microbiome, plus supporting gut morphology and immune function, these yeast-based ingredients allow for the removal of high inclusions of zinc oxide whilst supporting piglet health and performance throughout the critical weaning period. The ZeroZinc Farm Pack is included in pig diets at a rate of one pouch (2kg) per tonne of finished feed.

Benefits include:

  • Minimising the drop in feed intakes and growth performance associated with weaning
  • Achieving comparable feed conversion efficiency to therapeutic zinc oxide
  • Supporting piglet health through improved pathogen control and gut integrity
  • Promoting a healthy and robust microbiome

The Horse Bucket

The Horse Bucket is a fine powder that has been specifically formulated to optimise function in the hindgut (caecum + colon).

A combination of Actisaf® Sc 47 live yeast and Safmannan® premium yeast fraction improves fibre digestibility, supports immunity and optimises digestive function in horses and ponies at all levels of work. The Horse Bucket also contains Prosaf® - a rich source of yeast nucleotides and peptides which aids villi development and repair within the small intestine.

The Horse Bucket works hard to support microbes that help to digest forage and feed in the equine hindgut. Modern equine diets require the digestive tract to process a wide variety of food, including highly digestible, carbohydrate-rich concentrates. These feeds move quickly through the digestive tract and can cause a sudden drop in pH within the hindgut, which kills these beneficial microbes, drastically reducing digestion of feed.
