Piglets face various challenges from the moment they are born and all the way through the pig production system.
In particular, the time of weaning is very stressful as they experience a number of unavoidable stressors, including being separated from the sow, moving from farrowing pens to weaning accommodation and adjusting from sow’s milk to solid feed. Mixing of litters at weaning also presents new challenges and diseases.
By stabilising the gut microbiome, binding to pathogens and maintaining gut integrity throughout this critical period, supplementing a combination of Actisaf® at 1.0 kg/tonne and Safmannan® at 0.5-1.0 kg/tonne improves piglet performance.
