Phileo expands British ruminant technical team
Phileo by Lesaffre UK & Ireland welcomes Thomas Gerrard as the newest member of their technical team, joining the company as Ruminant Technical Sales Specialist for Great Britain.
From a family dairy and pig farm situated in the Greater Manchester area in the north west of England, Thomas studied a BSc (Hons) degree in Agricultural Livestock Science at Myerscough College, coming away with a first class honours in 2019. He then studied a masters degree at the Royal Agricultural University in 2021, concluding his time with a first class honours in Sustainable Food and Agriculture Policy.
Thomas has already held a Technical Nutrition Specialist role covering dairy farms across Lancashire, Cheshire, Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Wales. Involved with dairy cattle throughout his life, with various different on-farm roles, Tom is accredited by The Register of Mobility Scorers (ROMS) and has a strong background in dairy cow lameness.
Thomas says: “The future of dairy, beef and sheep in Great Britain is exciting as these sectors continue to drive improvements in animal health and welfare, sustainability, efficiency and food quality.
“I look forward to developing within the role at Phileo by Lesaffre and have already enjoyed working with colleagues, customers and industry representatives in my first few weeks.”
Phileo by Lesaffre UK and Ireland now consists of eight team members who work with farmers and feeding businesses across the region in the dairy, beef, sheep, pigs, poultry, equine and pet sectors.
